When Will Once Upon a Time Air Again

'Once Upon A Time' Is Leaving Netflix: Watch The 12 Best Episodes Of The Series

One time Upon A Time may have concluded dorsum in 2018, but it's thankfully been on Netflix to rewatch at will since then. Sadly, the ABC series volition be leaving the streaming service on September 5, meaning yous only have a limited corporeality of time to relive some of the best moments of the serial via these episodes.

Despite its more questionable storylines and its unnecessary final flavour, OUAT remains a firm fan favorite largely because for every terrible arc or attempt at character assassination, a heartwarming, clever, or otherwise memorable moment was in that location to erase that bad taste from our commonage memory. The Neverland arc allows viewers to forget the inevitable Frozen crossover; Regina's full-circle redemption almost makes it possible to forget the near-total destruction of the once badass savior that was Emma Swan, who turned into a simpering accessory to the manipulative Killian/Captain Hook. Like all things in life, you have to accept the practiced with the bad.

To love One time Upon A Fourth dimension was to accept it in all its imperfections and to hold tight to all the wonderful things information technology wrought and the messages information technology sent (well, at least some of them). For many, the testify will ultimately leave a legacy of the importance of family, exist it blood-related or those we choose to give that title to, as well equally the power of dearest in all its forms: not just romantic but familial, paternal, and the honey betwixt friends. On this bear witness, information technology's strong plenty to bring the expressionless back to life and to even movement the moon in the night sky. If that's non a potent plenty ethos, I don't know what is.

With that in mind, why non revisit some of the best episodes of the serial? These episodes demonstrate some of the moments that brought so many to One time and kept them at that place fifty-fifty when the going got tough (and sometimes it was really, really tough) and they're well-worth a (re)watch.

1

"Pilot" - Season 1, Episode i

OUAT 101

You lot tin't appreciate a prove without cringing through its pilot episode, right? Once Upon A Time's get-go episode was in places sloppy and the script needed tightening in spots, only it as well painted a vivid moving-picture show of the fairytales we all know and love in such a different lite and made viewers excited to see where they were going with it. If you want to sympathize the bones structure of the show, yous have to starting time here.

"A Land Without Magic" Season i, Episode 22

OUAT 122

One thing OUAT has e'er done incredibly well is season finales, and "A Land Without Magic" is no exception. After Henry eats the poisoned apple turnover meant for Emma and falls into a coma, Regina and Emma are forced to put their differences aside to work together towards a mutual goal: saving Henry'southward life. This episode does a great job of really cementing the earlier-laid groundwork of what this show is truly virtually: family unit.

"Nosotros Are Both" - Season 2, Episode 2

OUAT 202

This is such a slap-up episode for Regina fans, every bit information technology gives us a glimpse into her much more innocent past and the experiences which ultimately led to her becoming the Evil Queen, much of which was Rumple'southward doing. "We Are Both" nods to the duality that exists in all of u.s. of good and bad depending on the situation. Information technology also references the difficulties of beingness betwixt two unlike worlds, in this example literally, as Emma and Snow are stuck in the Enchanted Forest and Emma begins to realize that being a princess isn't as glamorous every bit she might have imagined.

"And Straight On 'Til Morning: Season 2, Episode 22

OUAT 222

Another season finale that just had to be added to the list. Not only does this episode marking the start of the ridiculously entertaining Neverland arc, but it also serves as the one in which nosotros see that for equally powerful as Emma and Regina are separately, information technology'south together that they really shine. This 1 is a whole lot of fun and starts off one of the well-nigh adventurous arcs of the series and it actually shouldn't exist missed.

5

"Going Dwelling house" - Flavour iii, Episode 11

OUAT 311

Once Upon a Fourth dimension decided to get clever with this episode, playing effectually with alternate timelines (once more) in a crazy enough way that it set up upwardly the fall finale. At this point, Regina is well and truly on her way to redemption and so makes a cede in social club to save Henry and anybody else from Pan/Rumple's dad (but go with it) by casting a different curse that changes things and then that Emma never gave Henry upwards for adoption and they lived happily ever after… well, sort of. Warning: this one is a bit of a tear-jerker as Emma and Henry say adieu to Storybrooke at the boondocks line, soon to head off with a lifetime of good memories, just no memories of anything that ever happened or the people who lived in that location.

"Bleeding Through" - Season 3, Episode 18

OUAT 318

Season 3 is arguably OUAT'south best, and this list could easily include many more episodes from it. However, "Bleeding Through" stands out as it gives us a great showdown between Regina and Zelena (Rebecca Mader), whose interpretation of sisterhood is nothing less than hilarious (and perhaps deadly, at least at this signal). Zelena is such a fun character and really lends some levity to what can sometimes exist a very serious affair, and then she'southward a welcome addition for sure. We also get some great backstory on Cora (Rose McGowan), which is always welcome.

"Shattered Sight" - Season iv, Episode 11

OUAT 411

This is ane of the most unintentionally (?) hilarious episodes of OUAT's entire run, which is why it's a must-take on this list. Role of the otherwise dreadful Frozen arc, "Shattered Sight" sees a expletive (yeah, another ane) cast by Ingrid (Elizabeth Mitchell) make everyone hate each other with the fire of a thousand suns. This means Snow and David start fighting while locked in different cells of the local jail and even Regina gets in on the activity. At to the lowest degree they all observe it hilarious as well once the curse is inevitably cleaved!

"Operation Mongoose: Part one and Role 2" - Season 4, Episode 21 and 22

OUAT 423

Say hello to i of the last truly splendid episodes of OUAT, every bit well as one of the best overall. "Functioning Mongoose" was really a two-parter and both episodes were equally good. We're off to another universe again in which anybody's roles are reversed. The Evil Queen is more than like Snow White, Snow is totally deranged, and Emma is… locked up in a tower, at least at first. She and Henry are the just ones who really know what's going on, which is what makes the ensuing action and so much better. This is very Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves in all the best ways.

"Scarlet Slippers" - Flavor five, Episode 18

OUAT 518

This is non a great episode, truth be told, just it's on here considering the showrunners finally threw LGBTQ+ fans a bone by throwing together Red Riding Hood and Dorothy (???) in the most random pairing e'er hoping that they would terminate asking for Swan Queen to be cannon. That did not happen and this was not good, only it was at least refreshing to read all the squirmy comments online after it aired, and for that, it deserves to be remembered.

10

"The Final Battle" - Flavour 6, Episode 21/22

OUAT 622

If yous wanted to turn off Once Upon a Time after this episode and never watch again, I wouldn't arraign y'all. Later the Blackness Fairy's curse (sigh) changes Storybrooke yet again, information technology's upward to the Savior to, well, be the savior. It'southward quite sad given that this marks the end of Jennifer Morrison on the testify, though given how much they destroyed her character over the previous two seasons, i couldn't blame her for finally bowing out. Withal, she really did go out with a bang.

Jennifer Still is a author and editor from New York who cares too way much about fictional characters and spends her time writing about them.
